For the romantic in me, I adored these cakes. This was the first that I had done in creating a draped look with the fondant. The bride had given me a picture of what she liked, but to make it different and more creative I drew my inspiration from white satin and lace wedding dresses and roses.
Again, the white draping is completely made of fondant but arranged just so it looks like heavy satin. The detailing was piped and finally the fresh long stem white roses topped the cake for an elegant finish. The entire cake is edible except for the roses. (September 2007)
