The cake here was completely inspired by the beautiful architechture of the Catholic Church. The colour makes it suitable for a boy, but it is not too stereotypical of gender. I wanted the doves and wings in the gothic style windows to give the overall cake an innocent and uplifting quality, while the cake topper provides a warm familial quality. I went for subtleness in that the angel wings of the cake topper actually form a heart shape around the little simplified baby. (September 2007)

Sweet innocence...
This was one of my first religious baptism cakes. Because the religion meant so much here, I needed to draw my inspiration from something that would encompass the message and meaning of the baptism. So, I thought to myself... where do people draw their religious inspirations from? The church of course!
